Carol McComber of Lansing Cashes in on Lottery's "Life in the Cash Lane" Instant Ticket!

LANSING, May 24, 2000 — Life recently became a little sweeter for Carol McComber of Lansing after she scratched off a Michigan Lottery "Life In The Cash Lane" instant ticket to reveal she had won a $10,000 prize!

"My husband, Keith, is the one who scratched the winning ticket," McComber said. "He was at the store when he scratched it off, and he handed it to the clerk right away to find out if it really was a big winner. Once he found out we won he came home to give me the good news, and to tell me I could turn the winning ticket in. I was totally shocked and have been smiling ever since!"

The 43-year-old winner said she has been playing Michigan Lottery games for the past two years, and the instant games are her favorites.

"I really like playing the instant games," McComber said. "I like to scratch them off while I am out fishing!"

The winning ticket was purchased at Quality Dairy Company #2, 400 S. Pennsylvania Ave., in Lansing. Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Lansing, the lucky lady said she kept it locked up in "a little red box under her bedroom pillow" to ensure its safety.

The homemaker said she plans to apply her winnings toward a down payment on a new home.

"Life In The Cash Lane" is just one of many Michigan Lottery instant tickets available at more than 9,300 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
