LANSING, May 23, 2000 — Traci Holmes of Belleville was the envy of the moms in her neighborhood when she recently won a $25,000 top prize in the Michigan Lottery’s "Lucky Mom" instant game!

"I was in the car with a friend of mine when I realized I had won," Holmes said. "I was so excited I couldn’t stop shaking! I called my mom right away to tell her."

The 28-year-old winner said she has been playing Michigan Lottery games for the past 10 years and her favorites are Michigan Lotto, The Big Game, and, of course, the instant games!

The self-employed child care worker purchased the winning "Lucky Mom" ticket at Cherry Hill Liquor, 39023 Cherry Hill Road, in Westland.

Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Redford Township, Holmes said she kept it in a fire safe.

The avid biker, walker and craft enthusiast said she plans to use her winnings to pay bills and purchase a new car.

"Lucky Mom" is just one of many Michigan Lottery instant tickets available at more than 9,300 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
