May 3, 2000 — Paul Durant of Sand Lake Wins Big Money In Michigan Lottery's Big Game!

LANSING, May 3, 2000 — Paul Durant of Sand Lake recently found out it takes just one lucky ticket to win big money in the Michigan Lottery’s Big Game! Durant’s ticket was the only Michigan Lottery Big Game ticket in the April 25 drawing to match the first five numbers drawn, allowing him to win the $150,000 prize. That day’s winning numbers were: 1, 12, 17, 22, 41 and 12.

"My wife was actually the one who discovered we had a winning ticket," Durant said. "She was so surprised she almost fell on the floor!"

The lucky man said he has been playing Michigan Lottery games off and on for the past 27 years, and his favorites are instant games and The Big Game.

Durant purchased the winning Big Game ticket at Wesco #41, 211 N. Main, in Cedar Springs. He said his wife picked the winning number combination based upon his birthday and the birthdays of their children. The Sand Lake man said he plans to use his winnings to pay bills and possibly purchase a piece of property.

The Big Game is a multistate lottery game in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 6,400 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

Big Game drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m.
The next Big Game drawing is Friday, May 5, with an expected jackpot of $200 million!
