LANSING, March 16, 2000 – A production assembler from Canton found his pot of gold, courtesy of the Michigan Lottery!
The lucky winner, who requested anonymity, scratched off a Michigan Lottery "Casino Nights" instant ticket to find he won the top prize of $1,000,000!
"The luck of the Irish came through for me!" he joked during his recent visit to Michigan Lottery headquarters. "I was still at the store when I discovered I won, and I simply couldn’t believe it. I told my wife and then took the day off work to collect my prize."
The lucky ticket was purchased at Grapevine Wine & Deli, 44285 Ford Road, in Canton.
Now that he’s Michigan’s newest millionaire, the 46-year-old winner said he plans to take his wife on a "good honeymoon" that they never got to take 25 years ago! He said he will also purchase a new car and invest for his children’s college education expenses.
A regular Michigan Lottery player for more than 10 years, this lucky man said he enjoys woodworking and playing Michigan Lottery games in his spare time. He especially likes Michigan Lotto, The Big Game and, of course, instant tickets!
Michigan Lottery instant tickets are available at more than 9,300 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide. "Casino Nights" is the fifth $10 instant game introduced by the Michigan Lottery. It has overall odds of roughly 1 in 3 to win a cash prize.
