Battle Creek Man's $1,000,000 Win in Lottery's "Millennium Millions" Instant Game is Dream Come True!

LANSING, January 25, 2000 — A Battle Creek man said he recently dreamt he would win big with the Lottery. That dream came true when he scratched off a Michigan Lottery "Millennium Millions" instant ticket to reveal a $1,000,000 prize!

"I was sitting at home when I scratched the ticket off," the winner said. "I knew immediately that I had won $1,000,000. I jumped up and down like crazy! I needed to tell someone right away, so I called my mother to tell her the good news and then I ran out of the house to tell my neighbor. I am so surprised that I won!"

When not riding recreational vehicles in his free time, the Battle Creek man said he enjoys playing Michigan Lottery games. He said he has been playing them for the past 26 years and he truly enjoys the wide variety of games offered. He said the instant games are one of his favorites and he has a lot of luck with instant tickets. In fact, he won a $25,000 prize on a Michigan Lottery "Surprise Package" instant ticket a short time ago.

The 44-year-old winner, who requested anonymity, purchased the winning ticket at Emmett C-Store, 321 Emmett Street E, in Battle Creek. Prior to turning the winning "Millennium Millions" ticket in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing, the winner said he kept it with him at all times to ensure its safety.

The lucky man said he plans to share his winnings with his family, including his children, mother and sisters. He said he believes anyone can win big Lottery prizes, and he offered the following words of wisdom to other Lottery hopefuls: "It only takes one ticket to win, but you can’t win if you don’t play!"

"Millennium Millions" is just one of many Michigan Lottery tickets available at more than 9,300 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
