LANSING, May 28, 1999 – James Fryman of Wyoming could hardly believe his eyes, but it was true! He matched the first five numbers in the May 25 Big Game drawing to win the $150,000 prize! That day’s winning numbers were: 12, 35, 36, 38, 39 and the Big Money Ball number was 30.
"I saw the winning numbers in the Grand Rapids Press and I had to read them a few times to be sure that I had really matched all five," Fryman said. "I then went to the store to get a winning number report to double-check them. I was in total disbelief!"
The Wyoming man said he has been playing Michigan Lottery games for the past 19 years, and he particularly enjoys Michigan Lotto and the instant games.
Fryman purchased the winning Big Game "easy pick" ticket at Refine Mart Inc., 1590 36th Street SW, in Wyoming. The lucky winner said he hasn’t yet had a chance to think about what he wants to do with his winnings.
The Big Game is a multistate lottery game in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 6,400 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
Big Game drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. The next Big Game drawing is tonight, May 28, with an expected jackpot of $5 million.
