LANSING, May 5, 1999 – A lucky Detroit woman was bowled over when she realized she had won the top prize in the Michigan Lottery’s Cash 5 game!  She matched all five winning numbers in the April 29 drawing to win the game’s top $100,000 prize.

"I saw the winning numbers on WDIV-TV 4 and I went numb when I saw that I had matched all five," said the winner, who requested anonymity.  "I couldn’t eat or walk after that!"

The winning Cash 5 numbers that day were: 6, 17, 21, 22 and 38. The lucky Cash 5 "easy pick" ticket was purchased at Mirage Liquor Shoppe, 13887 Gratiot, in Detroit.

Prior to turning the winning ticket in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing, the Detroit woman placed it in her Bible for safe keeping.

The 49-year-old winner said she has been playing Michigan Lottery games for the past 26 years, and she thoroughly enjoys the games the Lottery offers.  The avid bowler said she plans to pay bills with her winnings.

Cash 5 drawings are conducted every Monday through Friday at 7:28 p.m.  Players can win $100,000 for matching all five winning numbers; $350 for matching four of five numbers drawn; or $20 for matching three of five numbers drawn.

Tickets are available for Cash 5 and other Michigan Lottery on-line games at more than 6,400 Lottery retailers throughout the state.
