LANSING, March 11, 1997 – Michigan Lottery players have Lotto and Big Game fever with growing jackpots now at $28 million and $34 million, respectively. But they also have instant game fever!
The Lottery broke back-to-back weekly instant game sales records: $14.017 million for the week ended March 3, and $14.455 million for the week just ended March 10.
Michigan Lottery instant games are the Lottery’s fastest-growing product segment.
"This is the first time we’ve had back-to-back sales records in the Lottery’s 25-year history – thanks in part to the new 25th Anniversary Cash instant game," said Michigan Lottery Commissioner Bill Martin. "We knew our instant games were a big hit with our players, but the response this month has been nothing short of amazing.
"Michigan Lottery players continue to send the message that they love instant games," said Martin. "Our strong sales show that players enjoy a variety of games and lots of ways to win great cash prizes."
The instant games’ record-setting pace must be attributed to the launch of several successful new games, including "25th Anniversary Cash" and a restyled favorite, "Wild Bingo."
The Lottery’s new $5 instant game, 25th Anniversary Cash, offers players the chance at a top prize of $250,000. Wild Bingo brings back the game play that Bingo and Bonus Bingo enthusiasts have come to love, but with a higher top prize of $25,000, and more bonus chances to win!
Michigan Lottery instant games are available at more than 9,000 retailers statewide.
