St. Clair Shores Woman Wins $150,000 Powerball Prize from the Michigan Lottery

Powerball LogoA St. Clair Shores woman’s dream of winning big came true when she won a $150,000 Powerball prize from the Michigan Lottery.

Joyce Ewald, 70, matched four white balls and the Powerball – 28-45-53-56-69 PB:20 – in the Nov. 5 drawing to win a $50,000 prize. Thanks to the Power Play, the prize was multiplied to $150,000. She bought her winning ticket online at MichiganLottery.com.

“I play Powerball regularly and have always dreamt of winning big,” said Ewald. “When I checked the numbers online after the drawing and saw I’d won a $150,000 prize, I was in complete shock. Winning is such a wonderful feeling!”

Ewald recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim her prize. She plans to save her winnings.

The Powerball jackpot was last won on Nov. 19. One ticket bought in Kansas won the $93 million jackpot. The current jackpot stands at $89 million.

Dearborn Woman Wins $1 Million Powerball Prize from the Michigan Lottery

Carolyn Geiss, 80, matched the five white balls in the Oct. 26 drawing to win the big prize: 19-36-37-46-56. She bought her winning ticket at Charaf Oil Inc, located at 7000 Greenfield Road in Dearborn.

“I like playing all kinds of Lottery games, and Powerball is one of my favorites,” said Geiss. “I checked the winning numbers as soon as they were posted and when I saw I’d matched five numbers, it took my breath away! I have been playing the Lottery since it began, and it feels great to win big.”

Geiss recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim her prize. With her winnings, she plans to take care of her family.

The Powerball jackpot was last won on Nov. 19. One ticket bought in Kansas won the $93 million jackpot. The current jackpot stands at $81 million.

Allegan County Lottery Club Wins $862,958 Mega Money Match Fast Cash Jackpot

The three-person Bunker Hill lottery club bought the winning ticket at Bunker Hill Chill & Grill, located at 4203 30th Street in Dorr. Dorr is about 20 miles south of Grand Rapids.

“We recently formed our Lottery club, and this was only our third time playing together,” said the club’s representative. “We were at the restaurant for quite a while playing Fast Cash games because the jackpot was so big. We would each throw in money to purchase a ticket and then I would scan the ticket on my Lottery app to see if we won.

“When I scanned one of the tickets and confetti came up on the screen with the winning amount, I was speechless. I slid my phone down to show the other two club members and none of us could believe it. We were so excited but tried to stay calm so that other people in the restaurant wouldn’t catch on to how much we won. It has been such an exciting, overwhelming, and fun experience!”

Detroit Woman Wins $1 Million Powerball Prize from the Michigan Lottery

Tonisha Jenkins, 46, matched the five white balls in the Nov. 5 drawing to win the big prize: 28-45-53-56-69. She bought her winning ticket at K&G Deli, located at 5625 Conner Street in Detroit.

“I don’t usually play Powerball, but I started purchasing tickets because of how big the jackpot was,” said Jenkins. “The day after the drawing, I got on the Michigan Lottery site to check the winning numbers and saw that a $1 million winning ticket had been sold at K&G Deli. I got excited since that was where I purchased my ticket, but I didn’t want to get my hopes up. When I checked my ticket and realized I was the winner, I couldn’t believe it. I called my sister right away to tell her the good news!”

Jenkins recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim her prize. With her winnings, she plans to remodel her home.

“Even though it’s been a few weeks since I won, I am still just as excited as when I found out,” said Jenkins.
