MoneyThe Mega Millions jackpot has jumped to $1.1 billion for tonight’s drawing. The cash option for the drawing has increased to $550 million.

If a player wins tonight’s Mega Millions jackpot, it would be the second largest Mega Millions jackpot won this year. In January, a Maine player won a $1.348 billion Mega Millions Jackpot. The Mega Millions jackpot was last won in April, when one ticket purchased in New York matched the five white balls and Mega ball to win a $20 million jackpot.

Tonight’s drawing will be the 30th drawing since the jackpot was last won. In those drawings, more than 26.4 million tickets have won prizes across all nine prize tiers. Westland is about 25 miles west of Detroit.

Lottery retailers throughout the state are selling Mega Millions tickets until 10:45 p.m. tonight. Tickets also may be purchased online at MichiganLottery.com.

Mega Millions drawings take place each Tuesday and Friday evening. Each Mega Millions play is only $2. For an additional $1 per play, players have the opportunity to add a “Megaplier” that can multiply non-jackpot prizes by up to five times. Club Keno Tripler Time Gives Players a Chance to Double and Triple Their Winnings

The Michigan Lottery is giving players a chance to double and triple their fun, and their winnings, in August with the Club Keno Tripler Time promotion.

Beginning Aug. 1, and running for a limited time, Club Keno tickets purchased at Lottery retailers statewide are eligible for the Tripler Time promotion. Players have a chance to receive a Doubler or Tripler message printed on tickets that will double or triple prizes won on that ticket, without any additional cost. The Jack prizes and Club Keno Extra eight of 10, nine of 10, and 10 of 10 prizes are excluded from the promotion.

To qualify for the double and triple winnings, tickets must be eligible Club Keno or Club Keno Extra prize winners. Receiving a Doubler or Tripler message alone does not denote a win. If a player purchases a multi-draw ticket and receives a Doubler or Tripler message, all eligible winnings for all the drawings on that ticket are doubled or tripled.

“When I revealed the star symbol and then the ‘1MIL’ prize amount, I turned so red and couldn’t stop shaking. My heart was thumping so hard, I thought it was going to come out of my chest!”

The 49-year-old player bought her winning ticket at the Village Pantry, located at 2001 North Garfield Road in Traverse City.

The lucky player recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim the big prize. She chose to receive her prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $634,000, rather than annuity payments for the full amount.

More than $102 million in prizes remain, including two $1 million top prizes, 51 $10,000 prizes and 915 $1,000 prizes.

In 2022, Lottery players won more than $1.7 billion playing instant games.

Lottery instant games may be purchased at any of the 10,500 retailers across the state.
