Powerball Jackpot Jumps to $750 Million for Saturday’s Drawing

Powerball LogoThe Powerball jackpot has jumped $25 million and now stands at $750 million for Saturday’s drawing. The cash option for the jackpot is $350.6 million.

If a lucky player wins Saturday’s Powerball jackpot, it would be the third largest Powerball jackpot won this year and the seventh largest Powerball jackpot ever won.

Saturday’s drawing will be the 28th drawing since the Powerball jackpot was last won on July 19. One ticket purchased in California won the $1.08 billion jackpot. The jackpot was the largest Powerball jackpot won this year and the third largest jackpot in Powerball history.

The last Michigan player to win a Powerball jackpot was Cristy Davis, of Waterford. Davis won the game’s $70 million jackpot on Feb. 12, 2020.

Players have plenty of time to purchase tickets for the drawing. Lottery retailers throughout the state are selling Powerball tickets until 9:45 p.m. Saturday. Tickets also may be purchased online at MichiganLottery.com.

Powerball drawings take place at 10:59 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday and may be watched live online at: http://www.powerball.com. A “Power Play” option that multiplies non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times to a maximum of $2 million may be added to any Powerball play for only $1.

Redford Woman Wins $100,000 Powerball Prize from the Michigan Lottery

Winning TicketBeginners luck proved true for a Redford woman who won a $100,000 prize her first time buying a Powerball ticket.

Latasha Robinson, 43, matched four white balls and the Powerball – 32-34-37-39-47, PB: 03 – in the August 14 drawing to win a $50,000 prize. Thanks to the Power Play, the prize was multiplied to $100,000. She bought her winning ticket at the BP gas station, located at 15180 Telegraph Road in Redford.

“I’ve never played Powerball, but my husband plays a lot, so I bought a ticket while I was at the store,” said Robinson. “The day after the drawing, my husband checked the ticket and started yelling, ‘We won! We won!’ I thought he was joking and that there was no way we’d won big the first time I bought a Powerball ticket. It was a surreal feeling when I looked the ticket over and saw that we really did win!”

Robinson recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim her big prize. With her winnings, she plans to buy a house.

Michigan Lottery players have a shot at a huge $725 million Powerball jackpot Saturday. The cash option for the jackpot is $345.7 million.

If Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is won, it would be the third largest Powerball jackpot won this year and the eighth largest Powerball jackpot ever won.

Michigan Lottery Launching Ghostbusters Themed Instant Game

GhostbustersMichigan Lottery players have a chance to get scary rich with the new Ghostbusters themed instant game!

Launching Sept. 26, each $5 Ghostbusters instant game ticket will offer players a chance to win prizes ranging from $5 up to $500,000. All told, the game will give players the chance to win more than $30 million in prizes.

The game will feature 12 different scenes with familiar characters from the Ghostbusters franchise, including Slimer and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. Also featured on the ticket is the iconic Ecto-1 Ghostbusters vehicle. For the first time ever on a Michigan Lottery instant game, the symbols, and numbers under the scratch material in the play area will be printed in full color.

Lottery instant games, including the new Ghostbusters game, may be purchased at any of the 10,500 retailers across the state.

In 2022, Lottery players won more than $1.7 billion playing instant games.

Calhoun County Man Wins $300,000 Playing the Michigan Lottery’s X’s & O’s Bingo Instant Game

Winning TicketA Calhoun County man had a remarkable start to his vacation when he made a pit stop on the way and won a $300,000 prize playing the Michigan Lottery’s X’s & O’s Bingo instant game.

The lucky 40-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought his winning ticket at Alma EZ Mart, located at 100 West Lincoln Road in Alma.

“We were heading to Northern Michigan for a family vacation, and I stopped to buy a Lottery ticket on the way,” said the player. “I scratched the barcode right away and scanned the ticket. When I saw the winning amount, I thought: ‘This can’t be real.’

“I showed my wife, and she took the ticket and started scanning it over and over. When $300,000 continued coming up on the screen, we both started hollering!”

The player recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim his prize.

“Winning is amazing,” said the player. “I am going to pay off my home and then celebrate by taking my wife out to a nice dinner.”

Players have won more than $5 million playing X’s & O’s Bingo which launched in June. Each $5 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $5 up to $300,000. More than $20 million in prizes remain, including two $300,000 prizes, eight $10,000 prizes, and 58 $2,000 prizes.

Lottery instant games may be purchased at any of the 10,500 retailers across the state.
