Ingham County Man Wins $1 Million Playing Michigan Lottery’s Millionaire Maker Instant Game

Winning TicketAn Ingham County man is still in awe after winning $1 million playing the Michigan Lottery’s Millionaire Maker instant game!

“I buy lottery tickets often, but I only play the $50 games,” said the lucky 55-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous. “I bought a Millionaire Maker ticket, scratched the barcode, and scanned it at the store. When I got a message to file a claim, I went out to my car and scratched the rest of the ticket.

“I was so excited when I saw I won $1 million that it was hard to even drive home because I couldn’t focus! I’m still in awe and waiting for it to fully sink in.”

The player bought his winning ticket at Louie’s Party Store, located at 1931 South Washington Avenue in Lansing. He recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim the big prize. He chose to receive his prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $693,000 rather than annuity payments for the full amount. With his winnings, he plans to pay off his home and buy a new truck.

Players have won more than $72 million playing Millionaire Maker, which launched in September 2025. Each $50 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $50 up to $6 million. More than $239 million in prizes remain, including one $6 million top prize, 11 $1 million prizes, and 50 $10,000 prizes.

In 2024, Lottery players won nearly $1.8 billion playing instant games.

Lottery instant games may be purchased at retailers across the state.
