A group of 18 coworkers from Grand Blanc hit big, winning a $1 million Powerball prize from the Michigan Lottery!
“Our club is a group of coworkers who play the Lottery together whenever there is a big jackpot,” said the club’s representative, Nicholas Stockwell. “I bought several Powerball tickets for our club and checked them the night of the drawing by scanning them. When one came back as a $1 million winner, I sent out a text to the group with the news, but no one believed me at first. It was a pretty cool experience for everyone once it finally sunk in that it was real!”
The 18-member Lucky 18 lottery club matched the five white balls – 31-59-62-65-68 – in the Aug. 20 drawing to win a $1 million prize. They bought the winning ticket at the Speedway gas station, located at 5505 Perry Road in Grand Blanc.
“The Powerball jackpot is back up there, so our club is going for it again and we hope be back claiming another big prize,” said Stockwell.
Powerball plays may be purchased for $2 each at Lottery retailers across the state and online at MichiganLottery.com. A “Power Play” option that multiplies non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times to a maximum of $2 million may be added to any Powerball play for only $1. For an additional $1 per play, Double Play may be added to a Powerball ticket, giving players a second chance to win up to $10 million in the nightly Double Play drawing.
The Powerball drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday and may be watched live online at: http://www.powerball.com. Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington D.C., U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.
