A Tuscola County man plans to “have some fun” after winning $100,000 playing the Michigan Lottery’s Super Raffle game!

Gilbert Godinez, of Caro, won the big prize when his Super Raffle number – 188964 – was selected as a $100,000 winner in the drawing on Nov. 19. He bought his winning ticket at Thumb Meat Market, located at 200 East Frank Street in Caro.

“When the Super Raffle game launched, I told myself I was going to buy one ticket a month until the drawing took place,” said Godinez. “I was at the store cashing in a win on a scratch off about two weeks before the drawing and decided to use my winnings to buy one more Super Raffle ticket.

“The day of the drawing, I got on MichiganLottery.com to check my raffle numbers and was stunned to find out that the last raffle ticket I bought was a $100,000 winner! I never would have thought I’d win a prize like this, so it’s pretty unbelievable!”

Godinez, 69, visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim his prize. With his winnings, he plans to invest and travel.

“I plan to invest a portion of the money and then have some fun with the rest!” said Godinez.

Super Raffle featured the richest payout of any raffle game offered by the Lottery. It offered a top prize of $6 million and two $1 million prizes. Other prizes were: $100,000 (12), $500 (3,500), and $100 (15,000).
