Michigan Lottery Extends Partnership with Detroit Metro Airport

Michigan Lottery LogoThe Michigan Lottery and Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) announced today an extension of a partnership that gives travelers visiting the airport the chance to win life-changing jackpots and cash prizes.

The eight-year extension brings Lottery games to the millions of travelers that pass through DTW each year. Lottery vending machines, featuring instant games and draw games like Mega Millions and Powerball, have been placed throughout the McNamara and Evans (North) Terminals, while redemption centers throughout the airport give players the ability to cash winning tickets valued up to $600.

The partnership extension also will give bars and restaurants located within the airport the ability to become Lottery retailers, bringing popular games like Club Keno and Cash Pop to millions of travelers who utilize the airport each year.

“This groundbreaking extension gives the Lottery unprecedented access to provide millions of travelers with the option to play popular Lottery games while they are visiting DTW,” said Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli. “The Lottery team is focused on meeting players where they are, and this agreement allows us to do just that, with the ability to expand our reach to bars and restaurants within the airport. This partnership provides excellent exposure for Lottery games and will give travelers the chance to win huge prizes playing their favorite games like Club Keno and Cash Pop, which have never been available within the airport before.”

“At Detroit Metro Airport, we are always looking for ways to enhance the travel experience for our customers,” said Wayne County Airport Authority CEO Chad Newton. “Extending our partnership with the Michigan Lottery also helps support public education in Michigan. So, it’s a win for our passengers, our state and our community.”

Since the Lottery began in 1972, it has contributed nearly $30 billion to the School Aid Fund which supports public education programs in Michigan. In each of the last six fiscal years, the Lottery has contributed more than $1 billion to the School Aid Fund and is on-track to contribute more than $1 billion at the conclusion of the 2025 fiscal year.

DTW welcomed 33 million passengers in 2024. As one of the world’s leading air transportation hubs, DTW offers service from 18 scheduled passenger airlines. Michigan’s largest airport offers approximately 800 flights per day to and from more than 125 nonstop destinations on three continents. With two award-winning passenger terminals, six jet runways, and an onsite AAA Four-Diamond Westin Hotel, DTW is among the world’s most efficient, customer friendly and operationally capable airports in North America.
