September is Responsible Gaming Education Month, and the Michigan Lottery is highlighting the availability of prevention, treatment, and recovery services in the state of Michigan.

As Responsible Gaming Education Month begins, the Lottery continues to remind players that the National Problem Gambling Helpline is available to provide free, one-on-one support for players who may have a problem. For confidential help 24 hours a day, seven days a week, players may call 1-800-GAMBLER. Chat and text options also are available through www.michiganlottery.com.

“Since 1972, the Michigan Lottery has been committed to promoting responsible gaming practices,” said Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli. “As part of our commitment to ensure gaming remains fun and safe for our players, we provide several responsible gaming tools and resources to find help. Each year, the Lottery provides $2 million to the compulsive gaming prevention fund, which the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services uses to fund statewide education and treatment programs for problem gambling.

Players who play the Lottery’s online games have access to several responsible gaming safeguards and tools including:

• A variety of self-exclusion periods
• Daily and weekly deposit Limits
• Daily Loss Limits
• A variety of Cool Off periods
• Age verification at account registration
• Play history to monitor gaming activity
