A Washtenaw County woman expected to see a $10 prize when she scanned her Fantasy 5 ticket but instead found out she won a $309,989 Fantasy 5 jackpot from the Michigan Lottery!

The 54-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, matched the Fantasy 5 numbers in the July 12 drawing to win the big prize: 13-18-23-28-33. She bought her winning ticket at the Belleville Amoco, located at 10950 Belleville Road in Belleville.

“Fantasy 5 is one of my favorite games to play,” said the player. “I usually buy my tickets online, but I went out for breakfast that morning, so I stopped at a store to buy a ticket while I was out.

“I usually don’t check my tickets right after the drawing, but while I was sitting at home watching tv that night, something told me to check my Fantasy 5 ticket. I scanned it on the app thinking maybe it would be a $10 winner, so I was stunned when $309,989 came up on the scanner! This jackpot prize is such a blessing.”

The lucky player recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim her jackpot. With her winnings, she plans to pay bills, pay off her daughter’s student loans, and then save the remainder.

Each Fantasy 5 play is only $1. For an additional $1 per play, EZmatch may be added to a Fantasy 5 ticket, giving players a chance to win up to $500 instantly. For an additional $1 per play, Double Play may be added to a Fantasy 5 ticket, giving players a second chance to win up to $110,000 in the nightly Double Play drawing. Players may win prizes in the regular nightly drawing, the Double Play drawing, or both. Fantasy 5 players select five numbers from one to 39. Players who match all five Fantasy 5 numbers drawn win a jackpot that starts at $100,000.

Fantasy 5 drawings are held seven days a week at 7:29 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at a retailer or online at MichiganLottery.com until 7:08 p.m. on the day of the drawing.
