An Ottawa County lottery club still can’t believe they won $6 million playing the Michigan Lottery’s 500X Money Maker instant game!

The three-person lottery club bought the winning ticket at the Down The Hatch Party Store, located at 1866 Ottawa Beach Road, Suite B, in Holland.

“Our lottery club has been playing together for quite a while and we always play scratch-off games,” said the club’s representative. “I scratched off the ticket late one night, and when I saw the prize amount of $6 million, I had to look the ticket over several times to make sure I was seeing it right.

“I woke up my wife and said: ‘I think I just won a really big prize; you have to come look at this!’ Once my wife looked it over and confirmed what I was seeing, I knew we had really won! The next day I met with the other club members and told them the big news. It all still feels surreal!”

The lottery club recently visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim the big prize. They chose to receive their prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $4.1 million. With their winnings, they plan to pay off their mortgages and then save the remainder.

“It’s still hard to believe that we really won,” said a club member. “I don’t think it’s going to hit us until we see the new balance in our bank accounts!”

Players have won more than $90 million playing 500X Money Maker, which launched in September 2023. Each $50 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $75 up to $6 million More than $233 million in prizes remain, including two $6 million top prizes, 20 $50,000 prizes, and 409 $5,000 prizes.

In 2022, Lottery players won more than $1.7 billion playing instant games.
