“I check the instant games prizes remaining page on MichiganLottery.com often to decide what scratch off tickets to buy based on what top prizes are left,” said the lucky 62-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous. “I typically wouldn’t have bought the Lady Luck 777 ticket since there was only one top prize left, but when I was in the store deciding which tickets to purchase, I noticed 007 was the next ticket number on the roll for four different games. I took that as a lucky sign and bought all four.
“I scratched the tickets when I got in my car and was shocked when I saw I’d won $1 million on the Lady Luck 777 game. I went back into the store, held the ticket up to the clerk, and said: ‘You sold me a big winner!’ It was amazing.”
The player bought his winning ticket at Kakoz 2 LLC, located at 36950 Dequindre Road in Sterling Heights. He recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim the big prize. He chose to receive his prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $693,000 rather than annuity payments for the full amount. He plans to save his winnings.
