Hours Remain for a Chance at $1.1 Billion Powerball Jackpot

Only hours remain for Michiganders to test their luck and take a chance to win the $1.1 billion Powerball jackpot. The cash option for tonight’s jackpot is $498.4 million.

Retailers throughout the state are selling Powerball tickets until 9:58 p.m. tonight. Tickets also may be purchased online at MichgianLottery.com.

“If a Michigander wins tonight’s Powerball jackpot, it will set the record for the largest Lottery prize ever won in Michigan,” said Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli. “The excitement surrounding this jackpot is taking over the state, and I hope to celebrate a new billionaire in Michigan after the drawing!”

If a player wins the jackpot, it would be the largest Powerball jackpot won in more than a year and the fifth largest Powerball jackpot ever won. Monday’s drawing will be the 40th drawing since the jackpot was last won on May 31 when one ticket purchased in California won the $204.5 million jackpot.

Since the Powerball jackpot run began June 2, Michigan Lottery players have won more than $6 million in prizes, including two $1 million prizes.

The Powerball jackpot was last won in Michigan on Jan. 1, 2024, by a Mid-Michigan lottery club. The club won a $842.4 million Powerball jackpot with a ticket purchased in Grand Blanc. That jackpot is the largest Powerball prize ever won in Michigan.

Lottery retailers throughout the state are selling Powerball tickets until 9:58 p.m. Saturday. Tickets also may be purchased online at MichiganLottery.com.

Powerball plays may be purchased for $2 each at Lottery retailers across the state and online at MichiganLottery.com. A “Power Play” option that multiplies non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times to a maximum of $2 million may be added to any Powerball play for only $1. For an additional $1 per play, Double Play may be added to a Powerball ticket, giving players a second chance to win up to $10 million in the nightly Double Play drawing.

The Powerball drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday and may be watched live online at: http://www.powerball.com. Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington D.C., U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.
