The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought his winning ticket at the Buddy’s convenience store, located at 710 East South Street in Jackson.
“I won $30 on the new $4,000,000 Mega Bucks game and I decided to buy one Golden Wild Time ticket and pocket the other $20,” said the player. “I scratched the ticket off in the car with my mom and neither of us really believed it was a winner.
“I took the ticket back into the store to confirm it was a big winner, and when the clerk scanned it I went crazy. It’s just mind blowing to win so much money.”
With his winnings, the player plans to take a trip to Las Vegas for his 21 birthday in May, buy a house, and a car, and then invest the remainder.
“I love playing the Lottery and it’s about time I finally hit it big. I’d like to have it happen again,” the player said.
Players have won more than $24 million playing Golden Wild Time, which launched in August 2016. Each $10 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $10 up to $500,000. More than $22.6 million in prizes remain, including one $500,000 top prizes, 54 $10,000 prizes, and 105 $1,777 prizes.
Lottery instant games may be purchased at 11,000 retailers across the state.
