
Tonight’s $636 million jackpot can be paid out as an annuity for 30 years. The winner would receive about $9.5 million as an initial payment, which would increase about five percent each year to a final payment of approximately $39.4 million.
Or the winner may prefer the prize in one-time payment, the estimated lump sum cash value of the jackpot is $341.2 million.
Only one other jackpot has been larger in U.S. history. On March 30, 2012, three winners from Kansas, Illinois and Maryland split $656 million the record Mega Millions jackpot.
The Mega Millions drawing will take place on TONIGHT, December 17 at 11:00 p.m. Tickets are $1 each and must be purchased by 10:45 p.m. to be eligible for that night’s drawing.
