The couple had the sole winning ticket from the Classic Lotto 47 drawing on
October 3.
They purchased their winning ticket from Meijer Gas Station #237 located at 29585 Mound Rd. in Warren.
The anonymous winners said the first thing they would do with their multi-million dollar fortune was help their family, then they would splurge a little on themselves and jet-set off to Italy!
Opting for a one-time lump sum payment of $2,173,112, these winners took home a check for $1,537,478 after paying 25 percent in federal taxes and 4.25 percent in taxes to the state of Michigan.
In fiscal year 2012, the Lottery’s contribution to schools was approx. $770 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $17 billion to education in Michigan.
