Bowling Green, Ohio Lottery Club Claims $150,000 Michigan Lottery Big Game Prize!

LANSING, May 22, 2000 — The 10 members of the "Happy Hour Club" lottery club of Bowling Green, Ohio are now walking around with a little more spending money after winning a top Michigan Lottery prize!

The "Happy Hour Club" matched the first five numbers in the May 5 Big Game drawing, collecting the game’s $150,000 prize. That day’s winning numbers were: 6, 8, 16, 30, 32 and the Big Money Ball number was 26.

Club members, who are all friends and range in age from 22 to 57 years old, include:

The club members work at several different employers including, Advanced Auto Electric, JBR Auto Repair, Maurer Service Center and Randy Coe Trucking.

"I saw the winning numbers in the Toledo Blade," said club member Shirley Walls. "I woke my husband up right away to tell him the club had won! I called the other club members at 7 a.m. to tell them the good news. We have all been on ‘cloud nine’ ever since!"

The winning Big Game ticket was purchased at Matthew’s Liquor, 6400 Summit Street, in Erie. Prior to turning the winning ticket in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing, Walls said she kept it with her at all times to ensure its safety.

The club members have a variety of plans for their winnings including paying bills, making investments and "enjoying the extra money!"

The Big Game is a multistate lottery game in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 6,400 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

Big Game drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. The next Big Game drawing is Tuesday, May 23 with an expected jackpot of $17 million.
