“I was eating dinner with my family and went to use the restroom,” said the player, who chose to remain anonymous. “The ticket machine caught my eye on the way back to the table, so I got a couple tickets.
“We were wrapping up, so I scratched them pretty fast and thought they were all losers and tossed them to the side. Something told me to look at them again and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw a $1 million winner.”
The player bought his winning ticket at Tommy Brann’s Steakhouse, located at 4157 South Division Street in Wyoming.
The player visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim the big prize. He chose to receive his prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $634,000, rather than annuity payments for the full amount. With his winnings, he plans to buy a new home and help his father start a business he’s always dreamed of.
