A Muskegon County woman is looking forward to a more comfortable retirement after winning a $504,165 Fast Cash Keno Progressive jackpot from the Michigan Lottery.
“I was planning to retire in about a year, but you always worry about having enough to enjoy your retirement,” said the player, who chose to remain anonymous. “This will give my husband and me a cushion and we’ll be able to enjoy ourselves without financial stress.”
The lucky player bought her winning ticket on Nov. 9, 2017 at the E&A Pitstop, located at 5586 East Apple Avenue in Muskegon.
“I bought two Fast Cash tickets – one Jackpot Slots, and one Keno – and as I was standing in the checkout line, I realized I had won something,” said the player. “I handed the ticket to the clerk and told her: ‘I think I just did something big here!’
“She called another worker over and we all started celebrating when we found out I’d won $504,000!”
The lucky player visited Lottery headquarters Wednesday to claim her big prize. With her winnings, she plans to complete some renovations to her family’s cabin, take her family on a vacation to Disney World, and let her husband retire a little early.
“We’ve both worked so hard and it wasn’t always easy raising a family. My husband can retire in June instead of waiting until January of next year, so I told him to go ahead. We’re both looking forward to enjoying this together,” the player said.
