A Lapeer County woman plans to pay college tuition for her three children after winning $500,000 playing the Michigan Lottery’s Treasure Tree instant game.
The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought the winning ticket at Sawdust Corners, located at 3528 North Lapeer Road in Lapeer.
The winner recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim the big prize. In addition to paying tuition for her children, she also plans to pay off her debt.
Players have won more than $11.2 million playing Treasure Tree, which launched in October 2016. Each $10 ticket offers players a chance to win prizes ranging from $10 up to $500,000. More than $12.2 million in prizes remain, including two $500,000 top prizes, seven $5,000 prizes, and 63 $1,000 prizes.
Lottery instant games may be purchased at 11,000 retailers across the state.
In 2015, Lottery players won more than $722.1 million playing instant games.
