The Jolly Street Gang lottery club won the big prize after matching the five white balls drawn – 07-24-28-65-74 – in the Oct. 17 Mega Millions drawing. They bought the winning ticket at the Waverly EZ Mart, located at 1700 South Waverly in Lansing.

The 10 members of the Jolly Street Gang formed the lottery club about eight years ago. Each time the club has won, they have thrown a pizza party and club members said that they’d celebrate the same way after winning $1 million.

The club members recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim their prize. With their winnings, they plan to pay for weddings, take an early retirement or give their retirement accounts a boost.

Mega Millions has been a lucrative game for Michigan Lottery players in 2016. Six Michigan players have won the game’s $1 million prize.

Mega Millions drawings take place each Tuesday and Friday evening. Each Mega Millions play is only $1. For an additional $1 per play, players have the opportunity to add a “Megaplier” that can multiply non-jackpot prizes by up to five times. Mega Millions tickets are sold in 44 states, Washington D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Tickets for Mega Millions drawings may be purchased at the Lottery’s 11,000 retailers around the state until 10:45 p.m. the day of the drawing.
