Along with frigid temperatures and heavy snow, February brought a flurry of big winners for the Michigan Lottery’s instant games, with six players claiming more than $6.8 million in prizes.
The parade of big winners at the Lottery headquarters in Lansing began on Feb. 10 with a $1 million top prize in the Diamond Payout game. The winning ticket in that $20 game was sold at the Westown Shell Food Mart, in Owosso.
Two days later, a lucky player claimed a $100,000 top prize in the Tripling Red 7s game. The winning ticket for that $3 game was sold at Evergreen Gas, in Dearborn.
Two lucky players had an especially sweet Valentine’s Day. They each collected $500,000 on Feb. 14. One player hit for a top prize in the $10 Royal Riches game and the other collected a top prize in the $10 Life in the Cash Lane game. The Royal Riches winning ticket was purchased at Speedway No. 2208, in Auburn Hills, and the Life in the Cash Lane ticket was purchased at the Admiral Petroleum No. 42, in Swartz Creek.
The $5 Diamond Wild Time game provided $300,000 worth of top prize excitement on Feb. 18 to a lucky player, who bought his winning ticket at the Pic Pac Market in Brownstown.
The biggest instant winner of the month arrived the next day to claim a top prize in the $10 Cash for Life game, $4,000 a week for life. That player opted for the one-time payout, which totaled $4.4 million. She bought her winning ticket at the Marathon gas and convenience store in Pullman.
All six of the big winners wished to remain anonymous.
