LANSING, June 24, 2010 – Michigan Lottery players can now get the most recent winning Lottery numbers with any web-enabled mobile device. The launch of the new portal is a joint effort between the Michigan Lottery and the Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB).
Players can access the most recent winning Lottery numbers on their web-enabled mobile device at http://m.mi.gov, and select Lottery Winning Numbers from the menu.
“Providing services and information via mobile devices is a major growth area for us,” explained Tom Weston, director of the E-Michigan Office in the Department of Technology, Management and Budget. “We get more than 15,000 hits a day on Michigan.gov from mobile devices, so we are focused on providing more information to these mobile users, and we know that there are many citizens who look for the winning Lottery numbers.”
“Now our players won’t have to wait to check their numbers on their home computer or in the paper,” added Lottery Commissioner M. Scott Bowen. “The new mobile portal is an easier and more convenient way for our players on-the-go to see if they are lucky Lottery winners.”
Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Michigan Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2009, the contribution to schools was $724.5 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
