LANSING, June 14, 2010 – The POWERBALL Power Play 10X hit in Saturday night’s drawing allowing players who selected the Power Play option to multiply their non-jackpot winnings by 10!
The Power Play feature in POWERBALL allows players the chance to multiply their non-jackpot winnings 2, 3, 4, or 5 times but since May 1, a 10X multiplier was added. The special limited offer ran until 10X was hit. The POWERBALL drawing on Wednesday will return to the regular Power Play options of 2, 3, 4, or 5 times.
In total, 3,965 players in Michigan won prizes on the Power Play ranging from $30 to $1,000 in Saturday night’s drawing.
Players will have until 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday to purchase their tickets for the $60 million POWERBALL drawing.
Following the Wednesday and Saturday drawings, POWERBALL winning numbers are posted on the Lottery’s Web site, https://www.michiganlottery.com/and on www.powerball.com . Players can also view the drawings on broadcast stations across the state: Lansing (WLAJ-TV), Marquette/Escanaba (WJMN-TV) on tape delay, and Muskegon (WMXG-TV).
Over 94 cents of every dollar spent on Michigan Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2009, the contribution to schools was $724.5 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
