LANSING, August 28, 2009 – Sandra Larose checked her Mega Millions numbers in the newspaper and was excited to learn she matched four white ball numbers and the gold Mega ball number in the August 11 drawing and won $10,000!
The regular Lottery player from Royal Oak hid the winning ticket in her purse before cashing it at the Lottery’s Sterling Heights office. Larose plans to get dental work done with the prize money.
The winning easy-pick ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven, 4623 Crooks Rd., in Royal Oak.
Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
