An increase in Mega Millions sales has bumped tonight’s drawing to a whopping $333 million! The increase now makes tonight’s drawing the second highest in Mega Millions history!
The last Mega Millions jackpot, worth $133 million, was won on July 7, 2009 by a lucky New York player. Chris Crane, who won $42 million on October 3, 2008, was the last jackpot winner from Michigan.
In Tuesday night’s drawing there were 191,199 Michigan winners, including four $250,000 winners and 10 $10,000 winners. In total, 2,472,384 people, in the 12 participating Mega Millions states, were winners.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide. Jackpot winners may choose to take their winnings in either a discounted lump sum or 26-year annuity. All Lottery winnings over $5,000 are subject to 25% federal taxes and 4.35% Michigan state tax.
