$10,000 Million Dollar Mega Play prize claimed!

LANSING, July 15, 2009 – Nicholas Moore of Beaverton told Lottery officials he was in “shock and awe” when he realized he was the lucky winner of a $10,000 prize from the Lottery’s Million Dollar Mega Play Instant game.

The regular Lottery player took the winning ticket with him wherever he went before cashing it at the Lottery’s Saginaw office. He plans to take a vacation and put a down payment on a new home with the prize money.

The winning Instant ticket was purchased at the Family Market, 35 W. M61, in Gladwin.

Million Dollar Mega Play is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2008, the contribution to schools was $740.7 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
