Fantasy 5 ticket claimed by Deford woman

LANSING, April 29, 2009 – A very lucky anonymous woman claimed a $105,000 prize after she matched all five Fantasy 5 numbers on April 17.

The regular Lottery player learned of her good fortune on the Lottery’s Web site but didn’t believe her luck until her husband confirmed the numbers. She plans on using the easy-pick prize money to purchase health insurance.

The lucky winning easy-pick ticket was purchased at Deford Country Grocery, 5846 Bruce St. , in Deford.

Fantasy 5 drawings are conducted seven days a week. Jackpots start at $100,000 and grow by approximately $5,000 daily.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2008, the contribution to schools was over $740.7 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
