LANSING, APRIL 24, 2009 – The 1 million Lucky 7s Raffle tickets, which went on sale Monday, March 2, have sold out!

The Lucky 7s Raffle drawing will be conducted on May 4 when two prizes of $700,000, 18 prizes of $70,000, 1,800 prizes of $700, and 18,000 prizes of $70 will be awarded. All 19,820 winning numbers will be posted on the Lottery’s Web site,, soon after the drawing.

“We had enormous success with both the Super Raffle and Millionaire Raffle and we are pleased to see players have positively responded to the Lucky 7s Raffle. We are excited to be giving out over $5 million to thousands of winners!” said Lottery Commissioner M. Scott Bowen.

Players must present their original Lucky 7s ticket in order to claim a prize. Players who win prizes of $700,000 or $70,000 must call the Lottery Public Relations office at 517-373-1237 to schedule an appointment to claim their prize. Those players who have $700 prizes can claim them at any Michigan Lottery regional office and those with $70 prizes can claim them at any Michigan Lottery retailer.

Besides visiting the Lottery’s Web site, players will be able to check their Lucky 7s raffle tickets at any Lottery retailers and Lottery regional offices throughout the state.

The Lucky 7s Raffle tickets, at $10 each, reflected players’ interest in a lower price raffle ticket. It is the Lottery’s 11th raffle since the first Millionaire Raffle was introduced in 2007 and the 10th to sell out. The next raffle, Win for Life, is scheduled to go on sale May 11. Details on the new raffle will be announced shortly on the Lottery’s Web site.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2008, the contribution to schools was $740.7 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
