Mega Millions prize claimed

LANSING, March 16, 2009 – Jill Drennan was surprised to learn her March 6 Mega Millions ticket was worth $10,000! The Canadian woman matched four white ball numbers and the gold Mega ball number to win the prize.

The regular Lottery player from Oakville, Ontario, Canada hid the winning ticket in a safe before cashing it at the Lottery’s Sterling Heights office. The lucky winner plans to give her church 10 percent of the winnings and use the rest to take a trip.

Drennan purchased the lucky winning easy-pick ticket at Sunrise Store #54, 6040 King Rd., in Marine City.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
