LANSING, March 16, 2009 – An anonymous Lottery player was the winner of the March 8 Fantasy 5 jackpot worth $110,000. The lucky player also matched two of five numbers to win $1, bringing the total winnings to $110,001!

The winning easy-pick ticket was purchased at A & Z Gas Inc., 682 Southfield Rd., in Lincoln Park.

Fantasy 5 drawings are conducted seven days a week. Jackpots start at $100,000 and grow by approximately $5,000 daily.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2008, the contribution to schools was over $740.7 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
