LANSING, March 6, 2009 – An anonymous Lottery player claimed the second half of the February 25 Fantasy 5 jackpot. The lucky winner and another player shared the jackpot, each receiving $110,724.

The winning own-pick ticket was purchased at Van’s Party Store, 15153 E. 10 Mile Rd., in Eastpointe.

Fantasy 5 drawings are conducted seven days a week. Jackpots start at $100,000 and grow by approximately $5,000 daily.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2008, the contribution to schools was over $740.7 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
