Top Jackpot Fever prize claimed!

LANSING, February 23, 2009 – An anonymous Lottery player was the lucky winner of a $1 million top Jackpot Fever prize!

The long-time Lottery player had won $500 on a previous instant ticket and used some of the winnings to purchase the $1 million winning ticket. The lucky winner has made “lots” of plans for the prize money but would not disclose those special plans with Lottery officials.

The lucky winning ticket was purchased at South Airport Shell MM, 1485 South Airport Rd., in Traverse City.

Jackpot Fever is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2008, the contribution to schools was $740.7 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $15 billion to education in Michigan.
