Muskegon woman "green" with win

LANSING, April 15, 2008 – An anonymous lucky regular Lottery player claimed the remaining top prize of $200,000 on the Lottery’s State of Michigan Lottery “green” ticket.

The longtime player purchased the ticket from an instant ticket vending machine and scratched it at the retailer’s. After revealing her big win, she was in such shock and disbelief that she had the retailer verify her win.

The lucky player plans to purchase a new car and donate money to her church with her winnings.

The lucky ticket was purchased at Wesco #26, 2277 E. Broadway Ave., in Muskegon.

The State of Michigan Lottery ticket is just one of many Michigan Lottery Instant tickets available at nearly 11,000 Lottery retailers statewide.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
