LANSING, March 28, 2008 – A longtime Lottery player really cashed in when he matched all five numbers in the March 10 Fantasy 5 drawing to win $55,000.

The winner, who couldn’t believe that he had won, was one of two lucky players to match all five numbers and split the jackpot.

He plans to use the prize money from his easy pick win to pay bills and make home improvements. The ticket was purchased at D Brother’s Party Store, 3030 N. River Rd., in Fort Gratiot.

Fantasy 5 drawings are conducted seven days a week. Jackpots start at $100,000 and grow by approximately $5,000 daily.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
