Huge Club Keno prize claimed

LANSING, March 26, 2008 – Some people might think betting $20 a draw on Club Keno doesn’t make any sense. But when a lucky Sterling Heights man bet $20 a draw, he multiplied is normal $410 match five win to a whopping $8,200! He also selected the Kicker option and multiplied his win by 2X for a huge $16,400 total!

The anonymous man hid his ticket in his wallet prior to cashing it in at the Lottery’s Sterling Height regional office. The regular Lottery player has no immediate plans for his prize money.

The lucky winning easy pick ticket was purchased at Bugsy’s North Bar & Grill, 145 E. Capac Rd., in Imlay City.

Club Keno offers 37 different ways to play and win. Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time. Players win Club Keno by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn. The more numbers matched, the more the player wins.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
