LANSING, March 5, 2008 – Anthony Greenberry was lucky he got the store in time on March 2 to purchase his Fantasy 5 ticket! All five of his own-pick ticket numbers were drawn that night and he won a whopping $202,949!
The Ypsilanti man, who works as a Machine Operator at Dex Tech, had only played the Fantasy 5 game for two weeks prior to his big win!
After seeing his numbers on TV, he had to double check with the retailer to make sure his eyes weren’t playing tricks on him! He plans to save his prize money.
The lucky winning ticket was purchased at Willow Run Food Market, 49365 S. Interstate 94 Service, in Belleville.
Fantasy 5 drawings are conducted seven days a week. Jackpots start at $100,000 and grow by approximately $5,000 daily.
Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
