Gaylord man wins Fantasy 5

LANSING, March 4, 2008 – An easy pick Fantasy 5 ticket proved very lucky for one Gaylord man. He matched all five numbers on Feb. 25 and won $100,000.

The anonymous winner said he checked his numbers on the Lottery’s Web site and asked his wife to double check the numbers before he could believe he had won.

The couple plan to use the money to pay off their mortgage, help their children and take a visit to the world’s largest aquarium in Atlanta.

The lucky winning ticket was purchased at Cardinal Discount, 121 S. Wisconsin Ave., in Gaylord.

Fantasy 5 drawings are conducted seven days a week. Jackpots start at $100,000 and grow by approximately $5,000 daily.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
