LANSING, February 29, 2008 – You could be living on easy street! Imagine the freedom to travel, help others or go on shopping sprees- the possibilities are endless!
All this could be yours if you win Saturday’s Classic Lotto 47 jackpot, a staggering $23.5 million!
Second only to the multi-state Powerball prize, Saturday’s Classic Lotto 47 prize is the largest in the history of the game. If a winning ticket is sold for Saturday’s drawing, it will be the 17th largest prize ever awarded by the Michigan Lottery.
If one player wins Saturday night’s prize, he or she can elect to take their prize in 30 annual payments of $783,333 each or a lump sum of $12.6 million, the estimated present cash value of the $23.5 million prize.
In Wednesday’s drawing, 14 lucky players each won $2,500 for matching five of six numbers. Wednesday’s winning numbers were 21 23 25 26 39 47.
The next Classic Lotto 47 drawing is Saturday at 7:29 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at any Lottery retailer and sales for Saturday’s 7:29 p.m. drawing will close at 7:08 p.m. that night.
The Classic Lotto 47 jackpot starts at $1 million and grows by at least $100,000 each time the jackpot is not won.
Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
