Waterford winner claims prize

LANSING, February 26, 2008 – David Wallace really knows how to win big! The lucky Waterford man matched all five numbers on a 5-Spot Club Keno game.

The prize usually pays $410, but he wagered $5 per draw and with a 5X Kicker cashed is a $10,250 winning ticket!

This is the largest win to date for the “shocked” player. He said the own-pick numbers are his usual picks and he plans to “have fun” with his prize money.

The winning ticket was purchased at Red Ox Tavern, 3773 E. Walton Blvd., in Auburn Hills.

Club Keno offers 37 different ways to play and win. Players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 or $20 per drawing and tickets can be purchased for up to 20 drawings at a time. Players win Club Keno by matching some or all of the numbers they have selected to the numbers drawn. The more numbers matched, the more the player wins.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
