LANSING, February 26, 2008 – A very lucky Lottery player was very surprised when he saw his numbers come up in the Feb. 22 Mega Millions drawing.
Derwyn Robertson of Sterling Heights matched four white balls and the Mega ball in the drawing to win $10,000!
Robertson said he hid the own-pick ticket in his checkbook until claiming the prize. He plans to use the prize money to pay bills.
The lucky ticket was purchased at Action Liquor Shop Inc., 27552 Van Dyke Ave., in Warren.
Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at nearly 11,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
