Detroit man wins Fantasy 5

LANSING, February 26, 2008 – One lucky winner didn’t sleep very well after discovering that his Fantasy 5 ticket was worth $100,000!

An anonymous Detroit man said he checked his winning numbers on the Lottery’s Web site and couldn’t wait to cash in his ticket.

He plans to use the prize money from the Feb. 24 win to pay bills. The lucky easy-pick ticket was purchased at Super K-Mart 4998, 17580 Frazho Rd., in Roseville.

Fantasy 5 drawings are conducted seven days a week. Jackpots start at $100,000 and grow by approximately $5,000 daily.

Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
