LANSING, February 4, 2008 – It may be cold outside, but the Michigan Lottery is really heating things up with huge jackpots and a flurry of new games!
The Classic Lotto 47 jackpot has reached outrageous new heights- a whopping $20 million is up for grabs in Wednesday night’s drawing!
Ten lucky players matched five of six numbers in Saturday’s drawing to win $2,500 each. The winning numbers were 04 18 30 42 43 47.
Mega Millions is on the move again, too! With no jackpot winning tickets sold in Friday’s drawing, the prize has ballooned to $102 million! That would equal $3.9 million per year for 26 years or a onetime lump sum payment of $63.7 million.
The new State of Michigan “green ticket” instant game is on sale today. This $5 ticket has top cash prizes of $200,000 and eight chances to win four-year Michigan Education Trust contracts valued up to $47,000 each. The contracts will provide four years of college tuition to eight Michigan youngsters chosen by the Lottery winners.
The contracts will be awarded in four second chance drawings to begin in March. To enter non-winning State of Michigan Lottery tickets, please log onto playercity.net.
Everyone’s favorite raffle game is back! The Super Raffle will return Monday, February 11. Tickets go on sale at 6 a.m. that day and the odds of winning $2 million have never been better!
Only 250,000 tickets will be sold and the Lottery will award two prizes of $2 million each (annuitized); 25 of $100,000 each; and 4,500 of $500 each in one drawing to be conducted March 17 or later. Tickets are $50 each.
Over 95 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets is returned to the state in the form of contributions to the state School Aid Fund, prizes to players and commissions to retailers. In fiscal year 2007, the contribution to schools was $748.9 million. Since its inception in 1972, the Lottery has contributed more than $14.3 billion to education in Michigan.
